Crane Chick Hatches at Highland Wildlife Park

An adorable Eurasian crane chick which has hatched at the Highland Wildlife park in Scotland

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s Highland Wildlife Park have celebrated the hatching of an adorable and tiny Eurasian crane chick. Staff at the wildlife park have shared the first photos of the chick.
Mother Leela and dad Hugh welcomed their latest arrival on June 11th 2021.

The chick currently has soft brown plumage across the body but within 65 days will take on the slate grey feathers of an adult with the distinctive red spot on the head. At this point the chick will also become independent.
Visitors to Highland Wildlife Park will be able to view the Eurasian crane flock behind the visitor centre.
