Keepers at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s Edinburgh Zoo have shared the first pictures of an eight week old red panda kit born at the conservation charity.
Currently the kit, born on July 10th 2021 has spent its entire life with mom Ginger in a cubbing den.
It is hoped that in coming months as it becomes more independent from mom visitors will be able to see the youngster start to explore in the outdoor enclosure. Their habitat was funded by platers of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

In the coming weeks animal care staff at the wildlife conservation charity will give the kits its first health check and then decide on a name shortly afterwards.
Red pandas are considered endangered mainly as a result of the loss of their habitat.
