Edinburgh Zoo TV Show Returns for Season Two

The arrival of sloths to Edinburgh Zoo will be among the stories to feature on the second season of Inside the Zoo

Viewers will get an inside look at the goings on at the two zoos managed by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) as the second season of Inside the Zoo comes to BBC Scotland in October.

The 10 episode series has been produced by Tern TV at Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park. It will give viewers a behind the scenes look as staff at the wildlife conservation charity work to save threatened species.

Harry Bell, managing director at Tern TV said, “We’re thrilled to be working with our favourite families again, the wild animals and the keepers at RZSS, to showcase their wonderful world of science and conservation. It’s a joy to make and watch.”

This new series gives us another wonderful opportunity to share the hard work and passion of our dedicated teams as well as the personalities and quirks of the amazing animals they care for.”

“Inside The Zoo gives people the chance to see exactly what it takes to look after species of all shapes and sizes, from our well-loved giant pandas, Yang Guang and Tian Tian, to little-known native insects like the pine hoverfly, and exciting new arrivals like giraffes and sloths.”

The series is narrated by Edinburgh native Gail Porter. She will guide visitors on their inside look at the cutting-edge science, conservation and unpredictable scenarios which make up a standard day at the zoos.
