First Pictures of Taronga Zoo Lion Cubs Out of the Den

Taronga Zoo Sydney have shared the first images of their five African lion cubs as they explored outside of their den.
The cubs are now six weeks old having been born to experienced mother Maya and first time father Ato in August.

The pride includes five cubs, three females and two males. They are growing well and at their latest weigh-in came in between 5.5 and 6.5kg.
Keepers at the Sydney attraction are looking for the publics help to name one of the cubs. You can submit your name here – African Lion Cub Naming Taronga – with a chance to win one of 20 family passes.

African lions are now listed as extinct in 26 African countries and are on the brink of extinction if conservation actions are not increased.
