New European Elk Arrives at Highland Wildlife Park

European Elk at Highland Wildlife Park

Ash, the European elk is one of the latest arrivals at the Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland

Highland Wildlife Park have welcomed one of their latest arrivals, a European elk named Ash. Ash comes to the park from the Scottish Deer Center. She swapped places with the parks former female elk Egret.

Ash has been introduced to the wildlife charity’s resident female, Raven as part of the breeding programme for their species following a 30 day quarantine period after her arrival at the park.

Eurasian elk are the largest living deer species and can be found across Europe. The species was previously found in Scotland.

Ash and Raven can be seen by visitors in the 85 acre drive through reserve at the Highland Wildlife Park.
