New Giant Tortoise Habitat Opening at ZSL London Zoo

Polly, Dolly and Priscilla the resident Galapagos giant tortoises at ZSL London Zoo are packing their bags ready to make a move to their new enclosure. The zoo will bring the Galapagos Islands to London this summer as they open the Giants of the Galápagos habitat.
This new pad will include a range of features to help keep its residents comfortable including two lagoon pools to cool off in, a muddy wallow and a tropical forest to explore.

Guests will also be immersed in the environment of the famous archipelago as they visit the new enclosure starting from mid-August.
As you stroll through the island you will see the three tortoises strolling just feet away. You’ll also be able to enjoy the comfort of a year round 30 degree tropical atmosphere.

At 26 the three ladies are considered young with a projected lifespan of over 100 years. In the new habitat guests will be able to explore the lifecycle of the tortoises from tiny hatchlings to the world’s largest tortoise.
You can also learn how these incredible tortoises have gone from living on every continent to being marooned on just one island chain.
