As humans went out to trick or treat the animals at the world's zoos were being given treats of their own. Here we take a look at the cutest images of animals enjoying the spooky season.
The treats may be cute for us but serve as important enrichment for the animals giving them new sights, sounds and smells to explore to keep their brain active.

The animals at Zoo Miami in Florida USA were treated to some carved pumpkins which contained their favorite treats.

While most animal's were exploring carved pumpkins the animals at Oregon Zoo had a different take on what to do with pumpkins. They took part in their 21st annual squishing of the squash.
The elephants got to destroy one 800-pound (362.8kg) pumpkin and another 600-pound (272kg) pumpkin grown by Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers Club members Larry Nelson and Jim Paino.

Taronga Zoo Sydney had our most unique take on the carved pumpkins this halloween. They carved their pumpkins with the threats which most affect a range of animals to bring awareness to what is really scary for threatened species.

The Australian Reptile Park took a different approach with their halloween video. Their video is much cuter than it is scary even with an appearance by some real life devils.

The animals at Twycross Zoo were treated to a range of pumpkins to celebrate national pumpkin day with the entire meerkat mob getting in on the action.
