The Toronto Zoo in Canada have announced a name for their Grevy’s zebra foal born in the early hours of Tuesday December 1st 2020. Parents Tori and Jake were recommended to breed by the Grevy’s Zebra Species Survival Plan (SSP) to boost the numbers of Jake’s underrepresented genetics in the captive zebra population.
Until now the foal has been affectionately known as #BBZeeBee. Over 8,000 people participated in the online vote which allowed you to choose between four possible names inspired by the Star Wars film series.
