The 11 week old warthog piglets at Zoo Atlanta have celebrated another milestone as they selected their names this week.
How does a warthog select its own name? Keepers selected three names for the three piglets and labelled three large balls with them. They then released the warthogs which touched the balls to select their names.

Warthogs are native to sub-Saharan Africa where they are considered to be widespread in the wild. At present the population has been declining due to drought, desertification and habitat loss.
They have proven resilient to human activities giving them an ability to share the grassland ecosystem.
