If you’ve ever dreamed of running your own zoo the new game from the Smithsonian National Zoo and Jumpstart Games is the perfect game for you.
Zoo Guardians, released this week sees you take charge of your own zoo where you can provide a home for 58 different animals. In the game you care for your animals, expand the zoo, complete quests and interact with 3D representations of the animals in augmented reality.

The game also challenges players to join forces and work to defeat climate change, deforestation and habitat loss.
Zoo guardians features a solid roster of 58 animals ranging from small animals such as the lemur frog up to larger animals such as the elephant. It includes a good mixture of popular zoo species such as gorillas, giant pandas, flamingo, giraffe and lion. You will also discover lesser known species such as the screaming hairy armadillo, pancake tortoise, Panamanian golden frog and burrowing owl.

By introducing players to a host of cool creatures in this virtual world, we have a real chance to motivate this generation to save animals in the real world.”

The game is recommended for ages 9 and up. It is available through the apple app store and google play store. It is free to download though in app purchases are offered.
