Zoo Miami Animals Explore Tricks and Treats for Halloween

The meerkat mob explore a pumpkin ahead of halloween

The animals at Zoo Miami are preparing for halloween by exploring the trick and treat items which were placed in their enclosures. The tigers enjoyed exploring a pumpkin, the orangutans got trick or treat buckets and the meerkats crawled through pumpkins and played with paper mache balls.

Elsewhere in the zoo the radiated tortoise family will be kept warm as the weather cools over the coming months by their new coats. These have been knitted by Animal Health intern, Genevieve Simon. The coats are designed to look like a watermelon and a sprinkle donut.
