RZSS Edinburgh Zoo have shared images of their over 100 strong penguin colony as they underwent their health check this week.
Each year keepers catch up each individual penguin and provide them their vaccinations and health checks. Luckily this year the catch-up revealed that all of the penguins are in great health.
Edinburgh Zoo is home to the largest outdoor penguin pool in Europe where guests can meet the penguin colony.

The penguin colony at Edinburgh Zoo include a famous member, Brigadier Sir Nils Olav III who is the mascot and colonel-in-chief of the Norwegian King’s Guard.
King penguins are the world’s second largest penguin species.
In the images shared by the zoo you can see some of their gentoo penguins. These birds naturally inhabit Antarctica and a number of sub-Antarctic islands.
