The royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) have announced names for the only elk calves in the United Kingdom. Their names were selected by keepers at the wildlife conservation charity. They selected the names Wren for the female and Goose for the male.
Born on May 16th 2023 the pair are the only elk calves to live in the United Kingdom. Their herd at Highland Wildlife Park is made up of dad, Raven and mother Ash. This is the first calf for the pair. Their bird themed names were chosen in keeping with father Raven.
Visitors may meet the family in the drive-through reserve at Highland Wildlife Park.
